Hospice Care Network has a wonderful team that is fulfilling its mission to care for the dying and their families, in spite of the toll the coronavirus has taken on everyone.
Please honor their work by supporting our COVID-19 EMERGENCY BEREAVEMENT FUND/SUMMER APPEAL.
Your donation will go towards our Children and Family Bereavement Program which is needed more than ever at this time. A world renowned expert on death and dying, Alan Wolfelt, recently wrote, “The coronavirus is not only causing a viral pandemic – it is giving rise to a pandemic of grief.”
At Hospice Care Network, our team of bereavement experts is all too aware of the complexity of today’s grief. We hear stories of despair, uncertainty, fear and worry endless times each day and are committed to helping those individuals find some corner of peace.
Here are a few of their stories…
- “My wife died three months ago. I finally got up the courage to go to the cemetery. I couldn’t get out of the car. There were so many new graves……I counted 70 hearses. I left and drove home in tears.”
- “My adult son had a long history of anxiety. One of his biggest fears was being alone. When he was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19, he was alone day and night. Every day I imagine how frightened he must have been. I don’t know how I will ever get over the fact that he died alone.”
- “My husband died from COVID. There was no service, no in person contact with family. It was just my son and I and now we are both sick with the virus. It is so isolating.”
Your donation will help us respond to the unprecedented need that this pandemic has created for our bereavement services.
